My Dyslexic Husband
A Memoir About Holding On, Letting Go, and Finding My Voice
Calla Hart is a writer, creative storyteller, and advocate for deeper understanding in neurodiverse relationships. Her debut memoir, My Dyslexic Husband, traces the raw emotional landscape of loving someone whose mind works differently — and the ways language, connection, and resilience intertwine when communication breaks down.
Drawing from her own lived experience navigating marriage, motherhood, and creative self-reclamation, Calla’s work invites readers into the often invisible emotional realities behind misunderstood love stories. Her writing is characterized by tenderness, truth-telling, and a deep belief in the healing power of voice — not only to speak, but to be fully heard.
Beyond the page, Calla nurtures her creativity through photography, pottery, and sound healing. She believes that storytelling, like art, is an act of reclamation — a way to name our experiences, honor our growth, and offer light to others walking a similar path.
Calla moves between three homes that have shaped her creative spirit: the mountains of North Vancouver, the quiet coastlines of the Sunshine Coast, and the sunlit shores of La Paz, Mexico. She is currently building a creative studio in La Paz, where she envisions a space dedicated to writing, art, and healing practices — a place to nurture beauty, rest, and belonging as part of her evolving life and future retirement.
