A note from the author

This book tells the truth — but it doesn’t tell every detail. Out of respect for the people I love, I’ve chosen to write under a pen name.

My Dyslexic Husband is deeply personal. It reaches into the private rhythms of a marriage, the vulnerabilities of parenting, and the invisible labor so many of us carry. Sharing this story required courage. But it also required care.

Using a pen name allows me to speak freely while still protecting the privacy of my family — especially my husband, whose neurodivergence is part of this story, but not the whole of who he is.

Calla Hart is a name I chose to carry this story forward. It holds both softness and strength. And in many ways, it gave me the distance I needed to write honestly — not out of anger, but out of love.
